The IPRS Group was established in 1995 to provide physiotherapy to employees of local organisations within Ipswich and Suffolk. The founder, a former physiotherapist in professional football, wanted to adopt the ethos of “sports injury management” into commercial organisations by comparing staff absence in the workplace with injured football players, where return to “game-ready” fitness shares similar traits to “return to work” fitness.
This ethos and innovative approach to corporate physiotherapy led to growth within the company resulting in a 2002 move to a larger head office premises on the outskirts of Ipswich. In 2004, IPRS broadened its client base into the Corporate and Government sectors and has continued to develop and grow with a varied customer base, focussing on the provision of high-quality musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Two years later, IPRS launched a range of mental health services.
In 2014, IPRS went through a rebrand, which included dividing the Group into 4 divisions (see below) with each delivering specialist healthcare services and sales, whilst developing 4 distinct brands and businesses. This rebrand resulted in the launch of IPRS Health, the Health & Wellbeing division of the IPRS Group, who today help over 50,000 individuals recover from musculoskeletal and mental health conditions and disorders every year.
In April 2022, IPRS Group was acquired by Investment portfolio management company handl Group providing the group with the opportunity to experience a new level of growth.
